Day Before Hajj Departure

There isn't much action today after Fajr.  All the children are at home because there isn't any school on Sunday.  After briefly having a visit downstairs, Hafsah and I came back upstairs because were bored.  Tomorrow morning we are suppose to leave for Hajj, Insha-Allah.

When we got upstairs, I started reading my Hajj book.  I was reading the part about going to Medina, when suddenly the room started swaying back and forth. It took me a little bit to figure out what was going on, but as soon as I saw the shutters on the window start moving back and forth, I realized that is was an EARTHQUAKE!

The earthquake only lasted briefly.  I immediately read La ilaha ill lala Muhammader Rasool Allah (SAW).  Then I got up, put on my abaya, and went downstairs.  Everyone was going about their everyday stuff and didn't seem to notice anything.  I looked for Nuni and told her about the Zilzala (earthquake). She had no clue about an earthquake.  I couldn't find anywhere to sit downstairs where there wasn't a non-Mahram man/boy, so I put my complete trust in Allah (SWT) and went back upstairs.  The reason I wasn't too excited about staying upstairs was because my home upstairs really isn't earthquake proof.  In my opinion, a real earthquake would result in the collapse of my home upstairs because it's not very sturdy to begin with, Masha-Allah.

I have been upstairs most of the day.  Right now it's Isha time and the weather outside is lightening and thundering.  It's the same weather as this morning.   Around 3:00 - 4:00 am we will leave for the airport in Lahore to get on our flight for Hajj with Saudi Airlines, Insha-Allah.  I am quite upset to leave Abdullah behind.  May Allah (SWT) grant me the strength to bear it, Ameen.
