London

We arrived in London at 6:00 am (London time).  We were getting late for Fajr so we went straight to the bathrooms to make wudu.  We prayed Fajr just outside the bathrooms in an empty area of the terminal.  After praying Fajr we followed the exit signs.  The signs brought us to immigration.  We wanted to enter London so that we could get a hotel room to sleep in until our flight to Pakistan in the evening.  Alhamdulillah, we were granted entrance.  Right away we exchanged some US dollars into London pounds.  We lost $60 in that process.

There was a hotel help desk that was able to assist us in locating a day room.  The only room available was at the Marriott for 80 pounds.  The hotel help desk charged us 5 pounds for their service plus the price of the room.  After paying for the service and the room, we went on a journey just to get to the hotel.  In order to get to the Marriott we had to walk a good distance in order to get to the underground transportation which was like a train.  The underground train was free of charge.  Next we had to take a bus to the hotel.  The bus ride cost 2.50 pounds for each person (2 adults and a 3 yr old).  My daughter was free of charge.

Finally we arrived at the Marriott sometime between 9:00 and 10:00 am.  We checked in, got settle, and then order some kids meals because the prices were too outrageous for anything else.  The kids meals were 3.25 pounds each.  We ordered the fish meal and the pizza (cheese only) meal.  Alhamdulillah, they were good and enough for all of us to eat.

After eating we slept hard until around 3:00 pm and then we left for the airport.  We had to take that same bus back to terminal one (2.50 pounds each) and then walk a good distance back to the underground terminal to take us back to terminal four where our flight on British Airways was to leave for Pakistan.

WOW!!!  What a walk, Masha-Allah.  I'm training for Hajj!  I have my new walking shoes on, my daughter in the child carrier on the front of my body, and the backpack on my back.  I'm also pulling my sons carry-on bag because he doesn't want to pull it.  He wants his Abu (daddy) to carry him, Masha-Allah.

Finally we reached terminal four and checked in for the flight.  Right away they were boarding and so we headed straight for the gate.  That was a good 15 minute walk as well, Masha-Allah.  I was really training for Hajj now, Alhamdulillah.  We boarded the plane and got settled in.  Finally the flight took off about a half an hour late.
